Why Are We Saved?（私達はどうして助かるのか）

　私たちはどうして助かるのでしょうか。如来様がそうおっしゃっているからです。なぜ私たちがお浄土へ行けるのかといったら、それは如来様がそう言っておられるからです。私たちがそう思っているからではないのです。ここが大事な点です。お浄土へ参れると私が確信しているから、お浄土へ参れるんじゃないのです。我々の思いはことごとく妄想でしかありません。そうじゃなくて、如来様が必ず助けるとおっしゃって下さっているから必ず助かっていくのです。（大峯　顕）(4)
Why are we saved? It is because the Tathagata says so. Why we can get to the Pure
Land, which is because the Tathagata says so. It is not because we think so : this is
an important point. We can have birth in the Pure Land because we convinced so,
which is utterly wrong. All our thoughts are nothing but delusions. It is not because we
think so but because the Tathagata says that we are sure to be saved.

「如来様が『必ず助ける』とおっしゃっておられるから『必ず助かる』」
なんと力強い言葉でしょう。そして簡潔です。

「どうして助かるのか」に対して
「ごたごた語託を並べるに及ばず」ということですね。
