Without severing blind passions, they realize nirvana itself.
（1月）如来誓願の薬はよく智慧の毒を滅するなり　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　
The medicine of the Tathagata’s Vow destroys the poison of our wisdom and foolish-
ness.
（2月）きくというは信心をあらわす御（み）のりなり　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　
To hear the Primal Vow indicates the heart that entrusts to Amida.
（3月）われらは善人にもあらず賢人にもあらず　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　
We are not good persons, nor are we persons of wisdom.
（4月）真実の信心はかならず名号を具す　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　
True and real entrusting to Amida is unfailingly accompanied by saying the Name.
（5月）十方の如来は衆生を一子のごとくに憐念（れんねん）す　　　　　　　　　　　　　
The Tathagatas of the ten quarters compassionately regard each sentient being as
their only child.
（6月）無碍の光明信心の人をつねにてらしたもう　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　
Unhindered light constantly illumines the person of the entrusting heart.
